About Me

I’m Grant Ardill, a web developer, system administrator, and networking specialist based in Sydney, Australia. With nearly three decades of experience across Linux, Windows, and Mac platforms, I focus on creating efficient, scalable, and visually appealing websites and applications using modern technologies and best practices.

My journey in web development began in 1996, and since then I've worked extensively with full-stack technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript (Express.js), PHP, Java, Kotlin, Swift, C++, and C#. I bring hands-on, real-world deployment experience to every project—whether that’s a simple website or a complex backend application.

I have a strong knowledge and background with app development for Android and iOS, and I’m proficient in using frameworks like Node.js and Firebase. I also have experience with UI/UX design, ensuring that the applications I build are not only functional but also user-friendly and visually appealing.

I have in-depth experience with containerization using Docker, and virtualisation technologies across various platforms including Proxmox. I’m also highly proficient in managing and troubleshooting Windows and Linux systems, with strong command-line expertise and years of hands-on system administration and networking across various distributions.

I’ve been building and repairing custom PC systems for over 30 years, and have over 15 years of experience working with Apple and Mac hardware, software, and ecosystems. My networking expertise extends to enterprise-level environments, including TP-Link Omada systems, and full integration of Microsoft Windows networks using technologies like Active Directory.

Additionally, I stay up-to-date with emerging technologies including modern AI tools and frameworks. I work with platforms such as OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and I’m also experienced in self-hosting local AI models accelerated by GPU, including: Gemma, Llama, Phi, Deepseek, Qwen. I am also experienced with IOT and Raspberry Pi systems, as well as home automation systems, including Home Assistant.

Professionally am highly proficient with SAP and SAP Business One, and have experience with many other ERP systems, including Xero, MYOB, and Quickbooks. I am also experienced with many other business software systems, including Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, Digital Ocean, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform.
